Fairhills shows-off their talent

31 May

On the 28th of May 2010 the Fairhills Youth Club (F.Y.C) hosted a talent show for people from within and outside of the project. Young, talented boys and girls got the opportunity to show what they’re capable of.

This competition included singing and dancing. All contestants were clearly excited and couldn’t wait to meet their competitors. It was a privilege for each of them to make an appearance on the stage. People came from as far as Worcester to join in the fun with the Fairhills community. Local dancing crews battled it out on the dance floor, entertaining the crowd – crews like the popular Cool Legoons and iGyptions from Worcester and the 777”B” and Flexibles crew from Rawsonville. These crews managed to create such electricity in the atmosphere with their enthusiastic performances and kept the judges on the tips of their toes.

This display of talent by these kids managed to, once again, re-unite all present in support of their efforts and created that special feeling in the crowd of being a community.

The show was organised by Gavin Fourie and his colleague, Marthinus De Bruin. Gavin, the administrative clerk at the Fairhills Community Centre, also made his appearance on stage. Gavin is considering furthering his studies in event management.

The F.Y.C wants to thank everybody for their support and participation to make the show such a success. Without them non of it would’ve been possible. Special thanks to producers: Mr. Thunis Myburgh, Mr. Fred Deetlefs, Fairhills Craft co-operative, V.G.K Church and last but not least, the Home of Fairhills Wines, Du Doitskloof Cellar.

Thank you very much.
